Shirley Mae (Hughes) Sickles

Shirley Mae (Hughes) Sickles, 83, of Green Cove Springs, FL, formerly of Revere, PA, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 4, 2024. She was born September 30, 1940 in Revere.

She was predeceased by her parents, William Hughes and Lillian Marie (Lewis) Hughes, husband, James William Sickles, May 19, 2020, sister, Lillian Mudery, and brother, Mark Firestone.

Shirley was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. During her working life she was a nurses aide at the Uniontown Hospital and for many years a beautician. She was a very loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, baking, the freedom of running errands in her car, trips, and travel. She will be greatly missed by her family members and many friends.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Babbetta Marie Kelly (Dale) of Round Hill, VA, grandchildren, Bryan, Hannah, and Sarah Kelley, brothers, William Hughes (Jan) of Uniontown, and Keith Firestone of Revere, a very special sister-in-law, Pamela Glover (David), her son, Samuel Sickles (Liza) and their daughter, Carolina, Pamelas daughter, Charity (Kevin), and their children, Kaitlyn and Dylan, very special aunts and friends, Loretta Lewis, of Revere and Barbara Rivera, of Sebastian, FL, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the Shell Funeral Home, Inc., 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA, on Sunday, May 12th, from 5 to 8 PM and on Monday, May 13th, in the Bethel Baptist Church, 998 N. Gallatin Ave. Extension, Uniontown, from 10 to 11 AM. The funeral service will begin at 11 AM with Pastor Bryan Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in memory of Shirley be made to the American Liver Foundation, P.O. Box 299, West Orange, NJ 07052.
