William T. Jeffries

William T. Jeffries, 91, of Uniontown, PA, passed away peacefully Sunday, May, 5, 2024 at Beechwood Court. He was born November 3, 1932 in Cardale, PA.

Preceding him in death were his parents, William Jeffries and Helen (Fisher) Jeffries Famularo and a sister, Patricia Louise Vavreck.

William graduated from German Twp. High School in 1950, served honorably in the US Army during the Korean War as a combat engineer, went to Youngstown, OH to work at Youngstown Sheet and Tube, and later worked for Pressley Ridge School. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Republic, C.M.F., Diaconate, and World Outreach. William was an avid turkey hunter and deer hunter. He was a member of the National Wild Turkey Association for over 30 years and loved to call the turkeys in.

Surviving are a brother-in-law, Albert Vavreck of Uniontown, nephew, Mark Vavreck (Lou Ann) of Morgantown, WV, niece, Jodi (Vavreck) Allison (Paul) of Moon Township, and great nephews, Mark Ethan Vavreck and Brendan Allison, and his many friends and hunting buddies.

Friends will be received in the Shell Funeral Home, Inc., 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA on Thursday, May 9th, from 6 to 8 PM, and on Friday, May 10th, until 11 AM the hour of service with Rev. Dr. W. Darwin Collins officiating. Private interment will be in Redstone Cemetery, Brownsville, PA.

The family would like to thank the staff at Beechwood Court, and Amedisys, for the loving care they provided William.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of William may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O. Box 515, Northampton, MA 01061.
