Robert William Creese

Robert William Creese, 66 years of Uniontown, PA went to be with the Lord Sunday, March 4, 2018. He passed away peacefully at his residence with loving family at his side. Robert was born January 15, 1952 in New Brighton, PA a son of the late William Creese and Jacqueline Ann (Phillis) Creese.

He was a graduate of New Brighton High School and the University of Pittsburgh. Robert was an engineer employed by Arcelor Mittal Steel, a member of Abundant Life Church and the Hutchinson Sportsmen’s Club. He truly enjoyed fishing and loved his dogs, especially Sophie Marie. As the end of his life approached he said, “I fought a long battle, don’t cry for me. I’ll be with Jesus and my family.”

Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Barbara Carol (Smitley) Creese, two children, Susan Kilinski and husband Jeff of St. John, Indiana and Beth Gilligan of South Fayette Twp., Pittsburgh, PA, five grandchildren: Joshua Kilinski, Robert Gilligan, Eric Gilligan, Ryan Kilinski and Jake Gilligan, a sister Sue Ann McNutt and husband Michael of New Brighton, PA, mother-in-law, Norma Smitley and sister-in-law Robin Huffine and husband Robert all of Uniontown, brothers-in-law Ray Smitley and wife Kathy and Gary Smitley and wife Patty all of Uniontown and David Smitley and wife Felicia of TN and Jeff Smitley of VA, a close nephew Chase McNutt and wife Carly of New Brighton, PA and many more nieces and nephews and their spouses.

Friends will be received in the Shell Funeral Home, Inc., 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., on Wednesday, March 7th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and on Thursday, March 8th in the Abundant Life Church, 1239 Brownfield Road, Uniontown, PA from 10 to 11 AM. Services will begin at 11 AM with Pastor Nicholas Cook officiating. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Abundant Life Church in memory of Robert.
