Audrey Lee (Kelly) Burner

Audrey Lee (Kelly) Burner, 82, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, died on December 25, 2023, surrounded by her family. Audrey was born on April 21, 1941, in Smithfield, Pennsylvania, one of ten children born to the late Charles Edward Kelly and Ida Lenora Kelly Thorpe (Zinn).

Audrey was married for 56 years to Richard G. Burner, Sr., who predeceased her on December 12, 2011. Audrey and Richard married on August 15, 1955, in Cumberland, Maryland. Together they had four children: Linda J. Ridgely, with whom Audrey lived in later years; Richard G. Burner, Jr., who predeceased Audrey on November 15, 2023; Lori A. Kubizna (David); and Sherri L. Schultz (Jason Barney).

Audrey was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her husband and son, she was predeceased by her son-in-law, John R. Ridgely; brothers, William E. Kelly, Albert L. Kelly, and Charles E. Kelly; and sisters, Virginia L. Kelly, Emma Jean Lowller, and Anna Mae F. Hainzer.

Along with her daughters, Audrey is survived by three sisters, Margaret E. Whoolery, Nancy L. Sage, and Patricia J. Haluck; six grandchildren, Richard A. Burner (Julie); Jeffrey D. Burner (Heather); Shaina L. Richardson (Jeff); Adam D. Kubizna; Justin L. Schultz; and Steven M. Schultz, Jr.; five great-grandchildren, Benjamin Burner, Mason Burner, Madison Burner, Lily Richardson, and Audrey Richardson, who was named after her great-grandmother.

Audrey was a talented cook, master baker, and dedicated crocheter. Her homemade cabbage rolls and baked goods were legendary. She loved old-time country music and the morning glories and lilac trees at the home on Carson Street where she and her late husband raised their children. Later in life, Audrey enjoyed spending time with family and shopping at thrift stores. Her family will always remember her tenacity, patience, and resilience in the face of adversity.

Please join us to celebrate the memory of Audrey on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Shell Funeral Home, Inc., 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, PA.
