Mary Margaret “Maggie” McClaren Bennett

Mary Margaret “Maggie” McClaren Bennett, 92 years of Uniontown, PA passed away peacefully Saturday, November 4 2017 in Mount Macrina Manor. She was born May 30, 1925 in Uniontown.

Preceding her in death were her parents John W. McClaren and Mildred McClain McClaren, her husband Albert D. Bennett in 1978 and three sisters, Sarah Ann Monahan, Delores Price and Patricia Anthony.

Maggie was a graduate of the Uniontown Senior High School with the class of 1943, and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. She had been a telephone operator for 10 years and later was employed at the Uniontown Hospital for 20 years working first in the hospital lab and later in the Social Services Department.

Surviving are many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff and management of Peroni’s Personal Care Home and Amedisys Hospice for the loving care and comfort they provided Mary as her life drew to a close.

Friends will be received in the Shell Funeral Home, Inc., 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA on Monday, November 6th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and on Tuesday, November 7th until 11 AM the hour of service with Pastor Michael Lyons officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Dunbar, PA.
