Barbara Lee Shaffer Sumey

Barbara Lee Shaffer Sumey, 73 years of Uniontown, PA passed away Monday September 11, 2017 at her residence with loving family at her side. She was born December 1, 1943 in Uniontown.

Preceding her in death were her parents, George Dewey Shaffer and Mattie L. Johnson Shaffer, brothers Clyde, Clarence Dale, Carl, Robert and Charles Ray Shaffer, Sr. and sisters Opal Kuhns and Marie Grace Shaffer.

Barbara was a former employee of the W.T. Grant Company and had attended the Brethren Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who greatly enjoyed the time she spent playing cards with her friends and family members.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband James Eugene Sumey, two sons, Bradley A. Sumey and wife Lisa of Smithfield, PA and Brian Sumey and wife Deanna of Greensboro, PA, four grandchildren, Wesley, Brandi and Bethany Sumey and Crystle Babyak, great grandson, Hunter Babyak, two sisters, Ruth Ann Mankovich and Dorothy Horvath and a brother Dewey Shaffer all of Uniontown, PA.

Friends will be received in the Shell Funeral Home, Inc. 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave. Uniontown, PA today, September 13th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and on Thursday, September 14th until 11 AM the hour of service with Rev. Darrell Edgar officiating. Interment will follow in Jacob’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery Masontown, PA.
