Dewey Shaffer, Jr.

Dewey Shaffer, Jr., 87 years of Uniontown, PA passed away peacefully Monday, November 12, 2018. He was born August 12, 1931 in Uniontown.

Preceding him in death were his parents, George Dewey Shaffer and Mattie L. (Johnson) Shaffer, his wife Geraldine Ruth (Borris) Shaffer and eight siblings: Charles Ray Shaffer, Sr., Robert, Clyde, Clarence Dale and Carl Shaffer, Marie Grace Shaffer, Barbara Lee Sumey and Opal Kuhns.

Dewey was a Korean War Veteran having served honorably in the US Army. He retired from Anchor Hocking Corporation, was a member of VFW Post 8543 and Amvets General Marshall Post 103. Dewey enjoyed carpentry and baking.

Surviving are two daughters, Debbie Surak and husband Gerald of McClellandtown, PA and Nita Huffine and husband David of Ronco, PA, two grandchildren, Jamie Mancini and husband Chris and Brittany Glass and husband Steve, three great-grandchildren, Anna Marie Mancini, Trinity Glass and Hayden Stewart and two sisters, Ruth Ann Mankovich and Dorothy Horvath, both of Uniontown.

Friends will be received in the Shell Funeral Home, Inc., 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA on Friday, November 16th, from 10 AM to noon when a memorial service will be held. Interment will be private.
