Eleanor Ventura Sementa

Eleanor Ventura Sementa, 89 years, of Uniontown, PA passed away peacefully Thursday, August 31, 2017 at her residence with loving family at her side. She was born October 20, 1927 in Uniontown.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Humbert Ventura and Mildred Fee Ventura, six siblings: Humbert R. Ventura, Jr., Eugene L. Ventura, William P. Ventura, Robert E. Ventura, Ann Ventura Deli and Mary Frances Ventura Brancato.

Eleanor was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church and St. Therese Altar Society. She graduated from Uniontown Senior High School with the Class of 1945. Through the years Eleanor was a legal secretary for Maxwell Lizza, Alex Goodstein, Thomas J. Kalman and District Attorney Joseph E. Kovach. She was Chief Clerk of the Fayette County Commissioners and Court Administrator of the Fayette County Courts while engaging in part-time employment for over 50 years with State Senator Thomas J. Kalman.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Elmer M. (Tarzan) Sementa, sister Barbara Ventura of Uniontown, sister-in-law, Agnes Ventura, four loving and devoted nieces who helped care for her, Patty David, Betti Moser, Janice Deli and Michele Bozak, her loving and devoted caregiver, Mary D. White and many other loving nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

The Family would like to thank the nurses from Amedisys Home Health Services and the staff of Albert Gallatin Homecare and Hospice Services, especially nurse Darla Dowling.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Uniontown Public Library or the Salvation Army.

Friends will be received in the Shell Funeral Home, Inc., 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA on Sunday, September 3rd from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and on Monday, September 4th until 10:30 AM when Parting Prayers will be said followed by an 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill St., Uniontown, PA. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Parish Wake Service will be Sunday, September 3rd at 3 PM followed immediately by the Altar Society saying the Rosary.
