Dorothy B. (Cramer) Sampey

Dorothy B. (Cramer) Sampey, 88 years of Uniontown, PA passed away peacefully Friday, January 5, 2018. She was born April 8, 1929 in Uniontown.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Arthur B. Cramer and Ora Hazel (Walls) Cramer, her husband James E. Sampey in 1962, a sister Betty Ritchey and two brothers, Billy and Richard Cramer.

Dorothy was a member of the Uniontown Free Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was in charge of the nursery for many years. She loved working with and nurturing children throughout her life. Her faith and her family were the focal points of her life.

Surviving are three daughters, Ora Lee Harshman and husband Larry and Marilyn McGee and husband William all of Uniontown and Darlene Pulice and husband Deano of Rochester, NY, two sons, James A. Sampey and wife Mary Ellen of Pittsburgh, PA and Thomas E. Sampey and wife Jeannie of West Palm Beach, FL, fifteen grandchildren: Christy Shaw (Jack), Dawn Berry (Jerry) and Julie McGee, all of Uniontown, James D. Sampey (Fiona) of Golden, CO, Jill Sampey of Brookly, NY, Haley Palese (Alex) of New York City, NY, Jennifer Zinn (Sean) of Springfield, VA, William McGee, Jr. (Rebecca) of Smithfield, PA, Jennifer Sampey of West Palm Beach, FL, Tina Merritt (Dan) and Francine Roney (Shawn) all of Lakeworth, FL, Deanna Abram (Chris) and Bethany Pulice, all of Rochester, NY, Christopher Pulice (Bethay) of Waynesboro, VA and Janelle Lesher (Nate) of Fredonia, NY, 27 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received in the Shell Funeral Home, Inc., 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA on Tuesday, January 9th from 3 to 5 PM. Services will begin at 5 PM with Pastor Deano Pulice officiating. Interment will be Wednesday morning, January 10th, at 10 AM in Bowman Flatwoods Cemetery.
