Stella M. “Sis” (Guseman) Shaffer

Stella M. “Sis” (Guseman) Shaffer, 89 of Uniontown, PA passed away peacefully Wednesday November 13, 2019 at her residence. She was born August 17, 1930 in Uniontown.

Preceding her in death were her parents, William T. Guseman and Pearl E. (Fitzsimmons) Guseman, her husband R. Samuel Shaffer, a daughter, Jessie Ray (Zinc) Shaffer, a great-grandson, Cameron Raffle and two brothers, Donald F. Guseman and William T. Guseman.

Stella was a faithful member of the Christ United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Adrian Bible Class, the United Methodist Women and conducted the church card ministry reaching out to church members far from home and those unable to attend services. Her efforts with this card outreach program touched many lives on a daily basis. Stella was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.

Surviving are a daughter, Earla (Shaffer) Blosser of Reading, PA, five grandchildren: Chrissy Hoffert (Michael) of Reading, PA, James “Jimmy” Raffle (Carrie), Samuel “Sammy” Raffle (Lisa), Krystal Lyn Tressler (Josh) and Joey Hull (Karen) all of Uniontown, seven great-grandchildren: Erica and Brian Hull, Bryan and Lincoln Raffle, Jase Tressler and Max and Elizabeth Hoffert and two brothers, Earl R. Guseman and wife Mary Lee of Miami, FL and Jessie J. Guseman and wife Joanne of Uniontown.

Friends will be received in the Shell Funeral Home, Inc., 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA on Friday, November 15th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and on Saturday, November 16th, in the Christ UM Church, corner of Fayette and Beeson Streets, Uniontown, PA from 10 to 11 AM. Services will begin at 11 AM with Rev. Beverly Roscoe officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
