Virginia Marie Riggin Rowan

Virginia Marie Riggin Rowan, 74 years of Vanderbilt, PA passed away peacefully Monday, September 18, 2017 in McGee Women’s Hospital with loving family at her side. She was born May 27, 1943 in Uniontown, PA.

Preceding her in death were her parents David G. Riggin and Dorothy Jean Bloom Riggin Fearer and a grandson Richard A. Kushak.

Virginia formerly worked at Community Action Agency, Head Start, Berkowitz Company and Al Fery Meats. She was a very loving wife and mother who adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Paul R. Rowan, three daughters, Katharine Fletcher and husband James of Greensburg, PA, Paula Rowan Kushak and fiancé Doug Yost of Smock, PA and Susan M. Rowan of Vanderbilt, two sons, Edward J. Rowan of Vanderbilt and Theodore “Ted” Rowan and wife Tammy of New Salem, six grandchildren, Michael and wife Sarah, Matthew and wife Nicole, Sarah and husband Justin, Charly and husband Gene, Theodore and Hanna, four great-grandchildren, Noelle, Coral, Lita and Liam and four brothers, David Riggin and wife Sue and Dale Riggin and wife Linda, all of Uniontown, Robert Riggin of Smock and Donnie Riggin and wife Janet of Denver, CO.

Friends will be received in the Shell Funeral Home, Inc., 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA on Thursday, September 21st from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and on Friday, September 22nd until 11 AM the hour of service. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
