Barbara Hozak “Bert”

Barbara “Bert” Hozak, 98 years, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018. She was born March 15,1920 in Trauger, Pa.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Stephen and Susan (Studinsky) Hozak; and eight siblings: Michael Hozak, George Hozak, Marie Hozak, Ann Homer, Elizabeth Bucko, Sue Fetsko, Helen Hemphill, and Theresa Kubiak.

She graduated from North Union High School.

Bert was a member of Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church and Uniontown Senior Citizens.

She was a volunteer at the State Theater and at one time a volunteer with the Fayette Community Action Agency.

Bert worked as a Janitress at the North Union Township Municipal Building.

She is survived by three nieces and two nephews: Michele Shell and husband Tim, Terri Sabol and husband Ron, Cindy Deegan and husband Tim, Mark Hozak and wife Sue, Andrew Homer and wife Charlene; many other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews.

Friends will be received in the Shell Funeral Home, Inc., 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., Tuesday, November 13th, from 5 to 8 PM and on Wednesday, November 14th, until 10:30 AM when a Christian Burial Service will beheld with Very Reverend Ronald P. Larko officiating. Interment will follow in Saint John Byzantine Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa.
