Jacob N. “Jake” Gibboney

Jacob N. “Jake” Gibboney, 71, of Uniontown, PA, passed away Monday, February 11, 2019 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born November 9, 1947 in Uniontown.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Jacob Gibboney and Kathryn G. (Welsh) Gibboney and his wife Elaine (Wydo) Gibboney.

Jake was a graduate of the Uniontown Senior High School Class of 1965. He enlisted in the US Army and served honorably through two tours of duty in Vietnam. Jake was a member of American Legion Post 51, Catholic War Veterans Post 1669, Uniontown Lodge No. 20 Loyal Order of Moose and enjoyed shooting pool.

Surviving are Ryan Wahler, his loving friend Leota Svec, several cousins and many, many friends.

Friends will be received in the Shell Funeral Home, Inc., 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA on Friday, February 15th, from 2 to 7 PM. The funeral service will begin at 7 PM. Interment will be private.
