Evelyn D. (Miller) Franks

Evelyn D. (Miller) Franks, 94 years of Uniontown, PA passed away peacefully Saturday, August 12, 2017. She was born March 12, 1923 in Uniontown.

Preceding her in death were her parents Samuel John Miller and Anna Bertha Raupauch Miller, her husband Stephen Franks, brothers Harry, Thomas and Benjamin Miller and sisters Anna Belle Clark, Daisy Mae Groves, Nellie Lalich and Betty Parkinson.

Surviving are four children: Donald Charles Franks and wife Margaret (Peggy) of Grafton, OH, Sue Ann Franks Thomas of McClellandtown, PA, John Stephen Franks and wife Judy Ann of Medina, OH and Stephanie Jo Franks Ritenour of Uniontown, 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, a brother, Benjamin Charles Miller of Koshkonong, MO and two sisters, Nellie Lalich of McKeesport, PA and Betty Miller Parkinson and husband Paul of Waverly, OH.

Evelyn was a member of the Community United Methodist Church and formerly worked as the manager of the Uniontown G.C. Murphy Store and later the Murphy Mart at the Laurel Mall.

Friends will be received in the Shell Funeral Home, Inc., 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA on Monday, August 14th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and on Tuesday, August 15th until 11 AM the hour of service with Reverend Joyce Brant officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
