Richard Dennis Burkovich

Richard Dennis Burkovich, 79 years of Uniontown, PA passed away peacefully Thursday, April 12, 2018. He was born March 22, 1939 in Braddock, PA.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Steven and Eleanor (Papp) Burkovich and a sister, Ginny Samsa.

Richard served Honorably in the United States Marine Corps and later worked for 52 years at Sensus Technologies. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Richard was an avid tennis player having played for many years with the Rockwell/Sensus Tennis League. He was a big Steelers fan and loved his three dogs, Sierra, Dewey and Ashley.

Surviving are his wife Mary F. (Zamek) Burkovich, three sons, Christopher Burkovich of Mount Airy, MD, Matthew Fulmer of Cecil, PA and Richard Burkovich of Uniontown, three grandchildren, Emily Maria Burkovich and Logan Michael Burkovich and their mother, Cindy Armstrong-Burkovich and Matthew Lawrence Fulmer and his mother, Jill Fulmer, a sister Marlene Gruey and husband Steve of New Castle, PA, a very special niece, Shelly Zamek Gruseck of Butler, PA, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews and friends.

Friends will be received in the Shell Funeral Home, Inc., 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA on Sunday, April 15th from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 PM. The funeral service will begin at 7 PM with Pastor Michael Lyons officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in the Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
