George Eugene Britt, Jr.

George Eugene Britt, Jr., 66 years of Uniontown, PA passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born April 7, 1951. Preceding him in death were his parents George Eugene Britt, Sr. and Ann Santore Britt and a brother Pat Britt.

George was a veteran having served honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam War, a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church and had worked as an assembler at Volkswagon Manufacturing. He was a loving father and grandfather.

George's struggles with drug addiction led him to help others with the same problems. He spent many years sharing his story to offer hope to people struggling with addiction. George will always be remembered for his big personality and sense of humor and he will be greatly missed.

Surviving are three children, Erin Mudery and husband Russ of Smithfield, PA and Vincent and Matthew Britt, both of Hopwood, PA, two grandchildren, Gabrielle and Alexandra, two sisters, Ruth Ann “Sis” Williams of Morgantown, WV and Mary Louise “Weezer” Palya and husband William of Uniontown and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and a special friend, Suzanne Kane of Orlando, Florida.

Friends will be received in the Shell Funeral Home, Inc., 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA on Monday, October 9th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A Blessing Service will be held at 3:45 PM.
