Ada D. (Hogue) Hiner Angelo

Ada D. (Hogue) Hiner Angelo, 91 years of Uniontown, PA took her first and only flight with Jesus on Thursday, March 16, 2017 after a six month illness.

She was born August 19, 1925 in Greensburg, PA a daughter of the late Stewart Thomas Hogue and Emma Minerva (Kirkland) Hogue.

Also preceding her in death were her husband, Clyde H. Angelo, a daughter Wanda D. McCartney, four brothers, Alfred, Virgil, Clifford and Elmer Hogue and five sisters, Alberta Jennings, Alice Murray, Wanda Sagosky, Twila Hiner and an infant sister Evelyn Hogue.

Ada was raised in Cokeville and Blairsville, PA and even though she was raised during the Great Depression, Ada often reminisced about the love of her family and the wonderful memories she had of them. She was a Free Methodist by faith and attended local Free Methodist Churches throughout her life. Ada was a prayer warrior who loved reading her Bible, singing and listening to Gospel music.

Ada married Clyde Angelo May 6, 1959 and he preceded her in death December 16, 1971.

Surviving are two daughters, Deloris Jean Taylor of Mount Joy, PA and Bonnie L. Springer of Uniontown, a son Larry D. Hiner of Delray Beach, FL, eight grandchildren, C. Randall Kenney, T. Mark Kenney, Chris Kenny and wife Heather, Sherri Geyer and husband Bradley, Jamie Harkins and husband Christopher, W. Robert “Robbie” McCartney and wife Lori, Jeffrey McCartney and wife Melissa and Ronda Risha and husband Joseph, 16 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, a sister Clara Rafitz of Uniontown and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the Shell Funeral Home, Inc. 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave. Uniontown, PA on Monday, March 20, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday at 2 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Charles O’Brien officiating. Interment will follow in Church Hill Cemetery, McClellandtown, PA.
